the all-you-can-eat buffet
Well, you can guess what I did today. I paid a visit to the golden corral at brunchtime. Oh my! The specially prepared waffle with blueberries and strawberries was delicious. So was the bacon, the cheesy hash browns, the mini donuts and the steak (medium, please). After that it was on to the salad bar for fresh cut fruit. By then the pans of yeast rolls were making their way out of the kitchen and onto my plate (well, just one.) A delicious bowl of orange sherbet with hot fudge sauce brought my meal to a close. Ahh...there was also one brownie, one piece of fudge, a chocolate covered strawberry and an oatmeal raison cookie thrown in the mix along the way. Why do I do it? Why do I just naturally pig out at an all-you-can-eat buffet? Well, because I can, for one thing and, also, I like tasting the variety of foods that I don't very often eat because I just really don't cook for myself. Small portions is the key. Take a variety but keep it small. It works. And I do love a good all-you-can-eat buffet. Occasionally. And then a good nap.
