Change in the Wind

I'm starting out this year differently than I did last year or any previous year for that matter.  I'm starting out as a traveler.  I made a very bold decision at the end of last year (2014) to sell my house, put everything in storage and hit the road.  I'm happy with my choice although the decision did not come easily.  I had been thinking about moving on for the last few years.  The kids are grown and my responsibilities are greatly diminished.  I could have stayed in my home forever.  It was a smaller house with a manageable yard.  I found my niche giving back to my church and community through volunteering.  I was happy but something was missing.  I wanted more adventure.  I needed more adventure.  So, after careful consideration,  I made the choice to travel.....full time.  I have received varying reactions to my decision.  Some people say it's wonderful and they wish they could go with me and then there are others that can't understand why I would give up the security of my home.  I will admit that the unknown can be scary.....if you let it.  But, I don't generally let the unknown get to me.  My risk tolerance is average.  I try to think things through carefully.  When I fail, I fail.  And I own it.  For now, however, I prefer to look forward and I am enjoying my travels.  I mentioned yesterday that I wanted to bring a bit of humor into this blog so this is the "funny" for the day.  When people ask me where I live I tell them my stuff lives in a storage unit and I live in a mail box at the UPS store.  That's where my legal address is, anyway.  Tight fit but it is climate controlled and out of the rain.  So, I'm good.
