My Easter Poinsettia

Every year at Christmastime I get a new poinsettia plant. It always looks so colorful and makes the house look festive. I seem to have good luck with keeping the plant looking good and staying healthy. Over time though the leaves begin to curl and eventually drop to the floor. I just keep turning the plant so that the fullest leaves are always in view. But, lo, the plant eventually becomes almost bare. I know I should remove it but I just keep it there in full view usually until Easter. I like the dark red color of the leaves and they become darker as time passes. I like to watch the changing colors. So, today is Easter. The poinsettia plant is still sitting on the table on the front porch. It still has a place of honor although it looks a bit forlorn. But no tears are necessary. The lily sitting next to it is keeping it company. It's a beautiful day.
