A Child's Innocence

This has been a very blessed year for me.  I have two new grandchildren in addition to my wonderful five year old granddaughter, Ana.  Madelyn was born in July and is the pride and joy of her parents.  Then, in October Ben made his appearance.  All are precious.  Just before Ben was born I went to visit Ana and her parents.  I did some shopping before I arrived, as grandmas often do, and as I was taking things into the house I asked Ana if she would carry a bag in for me.  I told her there was a surprise in the bag for her.  With wide eyes, Ana (just four years old at the time) looked up at me excitedly and asked if Ben was in there.  How beautiful this moment was!  She thought, perhaps, that I was bringing her baby brother to her in the bag. To a four year old that would seem possible.   It would be easier that way, too.  Oh, the heart warming innocence of a little girl.  And what love.
