California Curving

OK, so Jeremy and I were driving along the Pacific Coast Highway from Malibu south toward Santa Monica. It was starting to get dark and I was gazing out the window looking at the ocean. I noticed a piece of land off the coast and I wasn't sure if it was an island or not. So, I asked Jeremy if it was Santa Catalina (I didn't know) and he said "No, this isn't the right place for Santa Catalina." I then asked if he thought it was an island or was it (and at this point I was grasping for words) just California curving. I can't believe it came out that way but he understood what I meant. We couldn't decide but then we agreed that it wasn't an island but, indeed, it was the mainland that just happened to jut out a bit at this point. California curving. I like it. It's a new description for a land jut off the California coastline. I really like it. And I invented it. Hmmmmm.
