Five Things
I have been talking to a dear friend of mine who has of late been overwhelmed by devastating loss. She questioned if she would ever be able to "get anything done" because she was so drained, both physically and emotionally. I told her that she was accomplishing more things than she realized. Sometimes just getting up each morning is a great accomplishment, especially when it would be so much easier to just stay in bed. Baby steps. That's what I told her. Just take baby steps. Just do a couple of simple tasks during the day and then rejoice at night for having done them. So, I came up with a plan. FIVE THINGS. Do five things. Any five things. Not big things. Small things like empty the dishwasher or throw out the newspapers. Baby steps. Small things. So, I decided to practice what I preach. I am starting a list of five things I have accomplished each day. This is not a to do list. Nothing is preplanned . It is a list of things I did and that's all. So.....today I played with the dog, folded laundry, cleaned off the kitchen counter, wrote a thank you note and took my Dad to Casperson Beach to watch the sun set. Five things. Accomplished.

Wow, now I have your blog grouped with the rest of them! I just didn't know that you were officially a blogger now! my insomnia has kicked in. One of my five things right now is to sleep!!!!
Wish you could just make a little journey up here. Be my "five thing" coach, so to speak!!!!!
